Sauce, for the Goose
There’s a lot of interesting things to talk about with the current resurgence of regulators squaring off with “Big Tech”. The most spicy one currently is the EU’s DMA law telling Apple that they have to allow alternate app stores and the like, and Apple trying their best not to hear that.
Anyway, I see today that there’s a whole host of new iOS features that Apple has announced that they will not be shipping to customers in Europe due to “regulatory uncertainties brought about by the Digital Markets Act.”
As someone who once worked on a project that got shelved, in part, because the company I was working for wasn’t willing to accept the risk of doing all this work and then having Apple tell us it was a no go, my reaction is: “lol; lmao, even.”
I cannot tell you how profoundly satisfying it is to watch one of the largest companies in the world squirm and whine because they’re finally getting the same treatment they’ve been giving everyone else this entire time.
Nature is healing.
